Malia hit her 7 month mark this week and I am amazed at how fast she’s developing! Over the 3 day weekend she:
Got her first tooth! Awwww! It’s barely broken the surface but I feel it clearly when I rub her gums or when she chomps down on my finger. It’s definitely there. I also noticed some pinkish coloring on her mum mum cookie yesterday afternoon. I’m already missing her gummy smile! 🙂
She can pull herself up into a standing position. Yikes! I’m really going to have to start baby proofing the house. Last night, we were crawling around on the floor. I watched as she got herself up on her knees, reached for the top of the ottoman, and then pulled herself into a standing position. OMG! I thought it was a fluke, until she did it again using her walker to balance herself. Me thinks she’ll be walking in no time. Geez!
She knows how to feed herself. She LOVES sitting down for dinner with the family. In fact, if we’re eating and she’s in another room, she will.not.have.it. She screams until she’s properly seated at the table and in arms reach of someone’s plate. She’s gotten very good at not only getting her way but also reaching out, picking something up and then jamming it in her mouth with coordination and precision.
I mentioned in another post that she has a fearlessness about her that I find so amazing. She displayed it again when she spent the weekend with her aunt and her rather large boxers. Malia was so delighted climbing onto Makai and Sokoki, having her face licked, crawling over to them to examine their faces, yank on their ears, pet (or pound) their backs. There was no fear in her at all and has definitely inherited her mom’s adventurous side. Yikes for me!
