This past month has been filled with so many milestones. You’re starting to find your voice…literally. Last month, “Up” was your first word and you relished in repeating it over and over. On the cusp of your 9 month birthday, you said “Da da”. It was so sweet and musical and pretty. So pretty that I got over the fact that you didn’t say “Ma Ma”. But that’s okay, my time will come and you’ll probably being wiping tears off my face.
As the days pass, I’m seeing more and more of your personality shine through as you explore the world around you. You have quite the little temper….which you probably got from me. I love watching you discover something new or work so hard to get what you want (even if it’s just a small block underneath a mass of toys).
You have no problems climbing into your big basket of toys, then flinging yourself out of it because you don’t quite know how to get out. And as you lay there, stunned from hitting the floor…trying to decide if you should cry or not; I simply can’t help but smile at your thought processes. Most of the time, you brush it off. You roll onto your belly and crawl to the next fascinating object. Your inquisitiveness is a joy to watch. And when you scream at me because the toy you want is too heavy for you to pull out of your box, I just laugh. Stay vocal, my little honu, it will help you in so many ways when you get older.
I look forward to witnessing your personality grow, develop and shine. I hope I can keep your mind engaged, fascinated and in awe at the world around you. I want to nurture your sense of adventure (even though it kind of makes my heart stop) and live in your every delight.
