I have worked hard for a few years now to find healthy eating habits beyond the latest fad or quick fix. I like programs that fit my lifestyle and makes sense for me. As I discover what works & have seen my body change, my habits continually evolve. I’m always looking for ways to improve my health & body. That’s when I decided to jump at the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight” by Joel Marion. Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experience of the book and diet (and hopefully some awesome benefits!)
Basically, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of:
- The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results
- The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat & when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals
- The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.
As I started reading the book. one of the first things that stuck with me was, “Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.” For any program I involve myself with, I always look for longevity. How sustainable is this program?
From the get go, Joel addresses some of the common myths about eating rules like “Eating Carbs After 7 Packs on Pounds”. Most of these myths dictated how I made my diet choices. It was refreshing to reset my mind prior to going into the first phase. Providing studies and his own experience battling weight, this book gets right to it. After doing the research, Joel decided to put his theory to the test and the results were awesome! 12 lbs down in the first 2 weeks, 46 lbs after 16 weeks, flatter abs and more energy. I wanted to see if this program would not only help me meet my health & fitness goals, but also be sustainable for the long term.
Being able to keep up with my kids’ active lifestyles has always been a priority for me. On top of that, I know they learn by mimicking my own habits. I’m excited to dive in and see how this program progresses & if the myths can be broken. Check back over the next weeks for updates on my progress.
In the meantime, check out this video on Joel’s top tips for success.
