I LOVE coming across old photos. I love the grain, the aged look that note the years that have gone by and the memories that come along with them. I came across an old photo of my sister and I with our cousin. I couldn’t help but laugh because they’re always on the top of my list of favorite childhood memories. There was a time when we weren’t together as kids, but that doesn’t matter. Our best moments were when we were together.
Some of my favorite childhood memories with them include:
- Going to church with our Cabbage Patch Dolls. I remember buckling mine up in a seat belt and having her sit next to me.
- Matching outfits. You don’t see them here, but more often than not we were in matching outfits. The fluffier and lacier the better. My mom was notorious for buying frilly lace dresses at the flea market for us to wear in school photos or to church.
- Dancing to Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach” video. lol. Yeah, that happened.
- Collecting rollie pollies in a shoe box and storing it under our beds. Uh – huh, ask my mom how she felt the following morning because, naturally, we had to punch holes into the box for them to breathe.
We’re still a happy trio today and I’m so thankful for the memories we were able to share together in our childhood. 🙂
Honorable mention to my cousin Tommy who taught me how to climb trees and catch frogs. He also got me into so much trouble when we were out too long exploring the creek.
What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
I’m pretty sure everyone has danced to at least one Madonna video.
Love it!! Matching costumes used to be so much fun 🙂
