Now that the whirlwind of Christmas is dying down, it’s nice to just sit back and do a little Christmas Reflection. The holidays are changing every year with new families, new obligations and loads of new memories. I’m glad to host Christmas Eve dinner each year and even though my hosting skills still need some improvement, I’m glad to infuse my own “style” to it.
This Christmas was a little smaller than previous years with some faces missing, but it also brought a lot of laughs. The kids enjoyed themselves with hours of arts and crafts. We played games with the family that added more laughs. Family games are kind of a new thing that we’ve added to our holiday parties but they’re such great ice breakers and create such incredible, LOL, moments for us to talk about. Look up “The Best” on pinterest to see what made us stuff our faces with marshmallows and had us leaping up the walls.
Reflecting back on this holiday season, I truly feel blessed to have such a fun, dynamic and loving family. We’re not perfect by any means, but the love we have for each other is uncompromising. I love that this holiday brings us together and that everyone leaves my house happy, well fed and surrounded with love. There really isn’t more that I can ask for. I grew up having big family celebrations and it warms my heart that I can create those same memories for my own children.
