…have faith, and believe in yourself.
You probably won’t know who Steve Jobs is by the time you get around to reading this letter. But for your mom and dad, he was a great entreprenuer, innovator, inspiration and all around brilliant man. He changed the world for so many people and changed the way we live, interact and share our lives.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
In his commencement speech at Stanford University he talks about finding your passion, having faith in yourself, and to never settle for anything less that what you love….in work and in life.
I can sit here on my Macbook, telling you that I dream of you going to Stanford and having an incredibly successful career. But I would be lying. Because what I truly hope for you is that you live your life true to yourself; doing what makes you happy and applying that passion to every aspect of your life. True success is sure to come by following that very simple formula.
