There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children, she didn’t know what to do.
Visit Fairytale Town – Sacramento California
The family and I ventured out to Fairytale Town in Sacramento for a day of fun and adventure. It’s a fun park perfect for young kids. Nestled among trees, the park provides 25 nursery rhyme-fairytale themed structures. The park also has farm animals such as the Three Little Pigs, Eeyore, Mary’s Little Lambs, Peter Rabbit and his family and 3 Billy Goats. It’s one of my favorite local spots to engage my kids with stories, activity and fun.
Across the street you’ll also find the Sacramento Zoo. Packages can be purchased for admission to both for a full day with the family. Plenty of parking is available around William Land Park. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy one of Sacramento’s wonderful green spaces.
Check out some of our favorites
She loves to go fast down the red shoe. It’s the tallest slide she would go on and asked to return to it as often as she could.
The animals are always a hit with my kids. We stopped by to visit the Billy Goats and checked to see if the goats could leap over them.
The play structures offered a mix of fairytale stories including Jack and the Bean Stalk, Cinderella’s chariot and trains to climb over. The smaller slides were perfect for my little ones to slide down together.
The crooked mile was a hit for both of my kids. We read the rhyme at the entrance to the path and worked our way through the twists and turns. It’s amazing how much path was squeezed into the square footage. My daughter loved rushing ahead and racing us to the crooked house. Not one to be left alone for long, she’d race back and make sure we were still on the trail.
My son kept his eyes open for the squirrel crossing.
