Cool, glad you like it. I often overlook Henry VII and Elizabeth of York because of the strong monarchs and drama surrounding them before and after. They definitely aren’t the dramatic, glamorous figures in the history books. That’s cool the show brings them to life more.
Okay, I finally watched the Anne of Green Gables (2016) movie. It was a little over 2 hours. So, it wasn’t a big investment of time. It was okay. It was nothing fabulous. I actually did enjoy the pace of it, fitting into the 2 hours made it continuously move along, which I liked. Ella B. who played Anne, was okay. The character is kind of annoying at first in the book too, and she was definitely kind of annoying on screen. Then, little by little, you get used to her and like her more. Her hair was dyed, of course, and that bothers me. Find a red-headed little girl actress!! I really like Martin Sheen, and thought he was good as Matthew. But, I hated his hair, which wasn’t period correct & was just his normal Sheen-do haha!. Sara B. as Marilla was less dour than Colleen Dewhurst in the Megan F. version. The scenery was pretty. Not sure where it was actually filmed, but I did like all of the landscapes and structures. The music/soundtrack had a Celtic bent. It was pretty, not over the top.
Overall, it was okay. Nothing to rave about. Just entertained me for 2 hours, but not something I would go back and watch again. Not sure if they’re doing a ‘sequel.’ But, it certainly lends itself to it. Just no real reason to have made this movie, not an improvement on the Megan F. version!
