Yes – we’re back at work. It truly was “the perfect storm”. The 50-70 mph windstorm knocked down power lines for the first fire. And the winds just pushed the fires so fast. The video coverage of one man outside his house was absolutely horrifying. In it, the fire was in a neighboring hillside and within seconds it was snaking up to his house and engulfed it. He was trying to save the house but got taken over too quickly. People truly only had minutes to get out. OUr CFO lost his house and he said his dog woke him up at 3 am and he had only minutes to get away.
If the winds had picked up again as predicted a couple days later, our building definitely would have gone down. The fire was stopped at the hillside across the street.
But we’re still here. 🙂
In other news, my 2017 wedding season is officially done and I’ll be closing the books on an incredible year of photography. Hoping I’ll be able to design my “Yearly” album the rest of the year and play with personal projects. 🙂 Looking forward to 2018 already as I’ve got big plans! 🙂
