I’m sad that another season is over. I agree though, I did not love the finale. I thought that it was really rushed, and some of the ideas were cheesy, like you were describing. I just didn’t care for the structure, pacing, and overall idea of the last episode. In my opinion, when in doubt, stick to the book. When the writers veer too far away from it, that’s when I start having issues.
The Jamie/Lord John reunion is a perfect example. it was just so much better in the book, and I feel like they should have stuck with that. Why change what is already good?!? Urgh!
Voyager is my 2nd favorite book in the series, but I did not love this season as a whole. It had pockets of awesomeness, but also some ho-hum, let-down moments.
I am NOT looking forward to the next season too much. I can’t help it. I just know what’s coming with so much focus on Bree and her milk-filled breasts, and the drama with the Stephen Bonnet rapist, etc. I am curious to see who they cast as the Bonnet villain, although anyone will look inferior after Tobias. I am hoping against hope that the writers breeze through the Bree and weird-Roger-actor stuff, and keep the focus on Jamie and Claire. That might help me stomach it a little bit more.
