Done. And thank you to whoever picked this book for making me cry!!! 🙂
I really enjoyed this book. I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the characters and the story. The time going back and forth did not bother me too much, as I thought it was well done. The narration being 3rd and 1st person combined always annoys me. It seems run of the mill to have wacky narration in books these days. But, that did not detract from me enjoying the book.
I enjoyed how Molly’s story paralleled Vivian’s, and how we saw glimpses into each of their lives. I felt like the orphan part of the story was definitely the most prominent, and rightly so given the title. The rest of the story, like the last 1/4 of the book, felt rushed and was definitely not as detailed as the rest of the book.
I love how Vivian met up with Dutchy again. But, oh lordy, I could not handle when he died. That part was rough and I was mad at the book for a little while. The ending help make up for that a little. I liked how Molly got to experience a sort of happy ending through Vivian.
Really liked this pick!
