Finally, an episode this season that I actually liked! Episode 5 was good. Yay for limited Bree & Roger! I am super excited that they brought Murtagh back. I had a sneaking suspicion they would do this somehow, and I thought it was well done. And that answers my question about Duncan haha! I always kind of thought of Duncan as the “Murtagh of DOA” but now we have the real Murtagh, I guess the writers don’t really need Duncan anymore. Although, he does marry Jocasta down the road, I guess that’s not important for the show.
I really enjoyed seeing Jamie try to get settlers to come to his land. I don’t remember him having as hard of a time of it in the book. But, I can see that the writers are laying the foundation for the regulators, then the Revolution, so oh well. Again, I guess it’s no biggie in the show.
I thought they captured Claire very well in the episode. Seeing her doing her doctor work. Then just her mundane day-to-day life around the homestead. And then the reality of being all alone, and having to just survive when the shit hits the fan. Again, I don’t remember the Muellers being that insane about the Native Americans. Oh well again. We got to see Claire being a peacemaker out of that. Hello crazy pig that lives under the porch later on! Yay!! Loved Jamie’s reactions to the pig.
And yay for John Grey and Willie coming up!! Probably my fave part of DOA book.
