OMG, yes, poor Bree in episode 8. That was horrible. I’m glad they didn’t actually show it though. Because it was so awful as it was.
Episode 9…meh. I didn’t hate it. But, I didn’t love it either. I do enjoy seeing Jamie get all verklempt and seeing him be all Jamie. But, I know where this is going and the focus on Bree that occurs in DOA and FC. I feel like Jamie and Claire are boring as hell this season, and they have turned into a snoozefest. I do like that they didn’t drag out Bree finding her mom and Jamie. Funny when she found Jamie peeing on a building! Ian and Murtagh were wasted in this episode too. Ugh! They need to be shown more, way more! In the books, there was so much more going on, so many other characters and situations. Jamie was doing a lot more in the books. I feel like nobody is “doing” anything in the show. It’s just a few characters, and that’s it. And yes, DG goes all soap opera on us in DOA with the “While doing laundry, Mom finds the ring Bree recovered. When confronted, Bree’s all ‘you have to keep my secret.’ Then, “I don’t know who my baby-daddy is.” The cheese is starting to ooze.
Poor Roger, that about sums up the episode. The poor guy can’t get a break. Jamie hauling off on him is awful. I hate that part in the book. That is when I really start feeling for Roger, and liking him more, as I continue to dislike Bree. I forgive Jamie though, because he really didn’t know that Roger wasn’t the bad guy.
Oh, and what I had a feeling would happen, is happening to me now. Sam is just too young-looking to pass as Sophie’s dad. It is super-unrealistic. I can believe Catriona being her mom a little bit more. But, damn! Sam and Sophie look like they could be a couple, not father & daughter. It just looks weird and creepy.
