Yes!! You are right!! I feel the same way. Those Native American scenes are bothering me cuz, once again, everything looks too perfect. All of the houses, gear, clothes, etc. all look super-new and perfect. Like straight up out of the costume & set design department. All the ladies have perfectly groomed eyebrows and stuff that screams “2019” not “1700s!” The village looks freaking perfect. I’m not saying that the natives didn’t do a great job building their villages, I’m more complaining about everything looking like a staged set, and not like a 1700s tribe actually lives there.
Same with the other characters & settings though. We already talked about the cabin. Same with the stuff in Wilmington. It’s such a “perfect” set. It looks cheesy. And all of the characters clothes look “old” but too “perfect.” That is what I feared when I found out they are not filming any of this in the U.S. It looks cheesy & it is cheesy. Even the forest still bothers the hell out of me. The trees are not at all like what the trees look like in North Carolina mountains. The outdoors look nothing like it! Ugh! Okay, done with that rant haha!
They definitely changed the story a lot with Murtagh being in jail, and having to bust him out of there. And then, lo and behold, Bonnet picks up the keys left on the floor. Blech! Hated all of that. They should have had Murtagh go ahead and kill Bonnet. That is more in-character for sure. It didn’t fit for him to up and leave out of the jail without killing Bonnet. But, then, we wouldn’t have as much of a soapy baby’s daddy SL for the future I guess.
Marsali is awesome! She is my fave female this season. And yeah, Lord John is my fave guy for sure. They changed a bunch of stuff from the book, but I like how they are involving John and using him so I get to see him on the screen.
