We need a Facebook messenger chat to discuss Game of Thrones. Lol.
I waited a few days to let it digest and let me really think through some of what happened.
Wow! What an episode. I mean the scope and scale to out that 80 min episode together. I watched the behind the episode Revealed earlier today. The cinematography for it was amazing. The dragons fighting in the moonlight to seeing the Dothraki “swords” being lit to then dying and I can keep going on and on there.
Arya…my girl. Made so much sense she be the one to kill the Night King. Everyone thought Jon..understandable since he always does the saving and from the books he’s probably Azor A’hai. That being said Arya has the best skillset to be sneaky as she’s a trained assassin. Loved her fight scenes with the double sided spear. Loved her quiet inside scenes. And the end. Literally minutes before it happened, I’m like we haven’t seen her in a while…she’s going to kill him. Many online hated it. Whatever.
Lady Mormont’s death. Badass little chick. It was a great ending for her. Beric served his purpose by saving Arya. Theon…how heartbreaking was that scene. “You’re a good man.” Me: 😭. Jorah dying the only way he’d really want to go…saving and protecting his Khaleesi. Sam crying on the ground…so hopeless he felt.
LOVED the musicality of the episode.
I was surprised the fight with the dead ended last night. Didn’t think we’d see the Night King last night, but, unlike many online, I’m okay with it. They’ve had stages of small battles with him last season, so it really didn’t end as quickly as lots are saying. The show is ultimately about the iron throne. I do hope we get major characters deaths in the last two episodes. Having everyone live is dumb and not really realistic. I can overlook the main characters outliving Sunday’s episode. I mean, more should have died, but all good.
My biggest and only disappointment was Bran and the the Night King’s reason. That felt incomplete to me.
