Share which camera/s and equipment you have. Share what you like/don’t like. Which accessories do you love? Need a recommendation for cameras or other equipment? Ask away!
August 28, 2018 at 6:31 am #5207So, I’m looking to get a new camera in September before our vacation and during baseball season, so that I can learn how to use it and replace my old camera.
I probably need to stay away from a DSLR. I’m not a pro, and I don’t want to mess with lenses, especially when I travel. I probably need to stay with a good point and shoot. Something better than an IPhone camera, but not as hard-core as a DSLR. I had a Nikon before, and it was fine. Nothing to rave about. It did it’s job. But, I feel like it’s dated already, and not doing a good enough job.
Recommendations? 🙂 …..
August 28, 2018 at 9:58 am #5208FUN! I posted a few Point & Shoot recommendations in my blog post. The first section has some links to P&S cameras. Nikon, Canon or Sony are my top 3. It just depends on your comfort level when using them. In terms of features, most of them are comparable.
August 28, 2018 at 6:32 pm #5216Awesome! I had seen that & had forgotten to click the link into it (I was waiting in carpool haha!). I will definitely check it out!!
I read a good article last week describing mirror-less cameras, and I thought of you 🙂
August 29, 2018 at 9:38 am #5217Oh, I am in love with my mirrorless. That says alot because I love my Canon Mark III DSLR too. But it’s the best of both worlds. The image and video quality are fantastic. I use the lens that it came with and haven’t even looked at any other ones. It fits my daily needs. The focusing features are awesome too.
I picked up my DSLR the other day and now it feels like a brick.
September 5, 2018 at 6:18 am #5221That is awesome! The mirrorless seems like a very cool technology!! I loved learning about the techy part of it.
September 5, 2018 at 7:05 am #5224Oh, and you’ll have to let me know what the video is like on that mirrorless camera. Is it good? Do you like it?
I went ahead & ordered the Canon PowerShot Sx350. Yay! I will let you know how I do with it. I didn’t want to overthink it and spend too much time obsessing about what to get. I know it will be a better updated point and shoot than the Nikon I have, where my old Nikon camera technology has just straight up gotten old. I was really tempted by that little PowerShot G9xMark II. I love the smallness of it.
I like to have great photos, but also need to have pretty good video quality for my little movies. I am really looking forward to seeing what this Sx350 can do. I am hoping to love it! I figure if I end up hating it, I’m only out $270, which isn’t horrible and Scott can’t get mad at that price. Price is what really deters me from getting a separate kick-butt video camera and a separate camera too. I just hate to put all of that money into anything technological. Wish I had an unlimited budget!! 🙂
September 6, 2018 at 10:50 am #5225I LOVE the video. I’ve taken tons of video clips that I just need to compose together. I’ll share as soon as I can. 🙂
And yay! I hope you like the camera. You’ll have to share photos. 🙂September 9, 2018 at 3:18 pm #5228Here’s a video I made today of the kids in the kitchen. This was taken with my Sony A7.
September 10, 2018 at 7:30 am #5230Awww, so cute! Yes, that video looks good! OMG, I love that Martha White muffin mix. I use it all the time. I am actually going to use it next week for a teacher breakfast day. Thanks for the tips Malia & Max 🙂 🙂
