I can’t even begin to predict who is going to die and who isn’t. Because I would probably be wrong. But, I can’t help thinking that being in that crypt during the battle is a really bad idea. I am definitely nervous for those characters. It reminds me of when Cersei lured all of those people into the High Sept and blew that thing up! Sitting ducks!!
April 23, 2019 at 1:58 pm #5854Yep – I agree. I think the dead will be undead before long. I’m also wondering if the Night King will find his way to Kings Landing first. Cersei has an army at hand that he might find very useful. And there’s gotta be something beyond episode 3’s “great battle”. Bran doesn’t seem too worried about being the Night King’s bait so maybe he knows he’s got awhile before he arrives.
I feel like many of the characters in that closing montage will die. Everything seemed to come full circle for them. Arya losing her virginity & getting in touch with her humanity again. Grey Worm & Missandei dreaming of warm beaches and a life away from winter. Even Brienne getting a knighthood. Theon finding his way ‘home’. I’m used to this show breaking my heart but still…
April 24, 2019 at 5:11 am #5855Loved episode 2! I’ve heard so much criticism about it online alongside the 4 people that I watched with. During the entire episode, i kept going back to this quote from ROTK.
Pippin: It’s so quiet.
Gandalf: It’s the deep breath before the plunge.
The calm before the storm. Conversations needed to be had. If you believed that it quite possibly would be the last night you were alive, wouldn’t you want to have the talks with certain people? Wouldn’t you let bygones be bygones? My SIL and I were chatting about it yesterday and she was like it was so cliched and it was slow. I’m like, you need the slow before the big battle. GoT has never been about the big action scenes. It’s the dialogue and plotting and backstabbing. My first watch was with my SIL and 3 friends. I watched it again that night on my own. So glad I did..
Brienne being knighted was one of my all time favorite scenes. The look between her and Podrick was perfect. Arya and Gendry. I love them. Always have. Always will. I like that their scenes were slightly awkward. Arya hasn’t been Arya for a long time. The fact that she took ownership and control of a piece of Arya was great. It showed her trust in Gendry. I have to say, I’m not as big of a fan of Dany as I used to be. I’m kind of indifferent to her. Don’t love her. Don’t hate her.
I can keep going on. They reminded us what we loved about majority of these characters so we can be thoroughly gutted when some of them die…😭.
April 24, 2019 at 5:19 am #5856I think the definite deaths are Theon, Greyworm and Jorah. I can see one of the Lannister bros dying…Tyrion more than Jaime because Tyrion’s story arc is done. Jaime still has more. I have horrible feeling that Gendry will be turned and he may battle Arya. I really hope I’m wrong there.
As for as the undead. I hope it doesn’t happen. My God a zombie Ned or Lyanna? Yikes. No thanks. Awful.
April 24, 2019 at 9:41 am #5857Yes – ITA with you. It was a slower paced episode but so much value in every conversation & every interaction.
Oh, and there was SOOOO much LOTR nostalgia in that episode. I’m glad you posted in here Abha because I knew you’d be able to relate. lolThe mom in me wasn’t ready for that Arya scene but I love that it allowed her to connect with the “Arya” in her. Being reunited with her family has definitely got her in touch with the human side of her. Loved all of it.
April 24, 2019 at 5:42 pm #5858Hahahaha. I knew you’d get it, too, with LOTR. Felt so much like before Battle if Helms Deep. I was practically laughing my ass off at the end when Tyrion was standing on top…I kept thinking…are you standing on a box?
I completely understand why so many felt uncomfortable with Arya’s “sex” scene. We’ve seen her grow up on this show. Maisie is a beautiful 22 year old woman, but she wasn’t when we started. I’m not a mom and I’m not a man, so for me it was a choice she made which I cheered her on for. Sansa, Dany, and even Cersei didn’t get a choice on losing their virginity.
April 25, 2019 at 11:55 am #5861If Tyrion breaks out an ax & says “Let them come”, I might smile a little. lol
April 28, 2019 at 5:44 pm #5863I agree with you ladies. I feel like I’ve been in denial all week about those in the episode 2 closing scenes being the ones to die. Cuz I’ll be sad about several of them! I’m kind of scurrrrred to watch tonight 🙂

The fact that the 2 smallest women on this show kicked ass the way they did make last night’s episode the best, best, best. Our firecracker, Lady Mormont, what a way to be a badass.
Seriously – those dragons wandered aimlessly a good 50% of the show. A little more fire power, please.
I’m still not 100% sure who died last night. I was heartbroken as the flame swords died out, one by one, and then the UnSullied were next in line….and Brienne’s scream & Jaime to the rescue. So much action and so much emotion. Theon, finally coming full circle & finding his redemption.
I know it was rumored but was the Night King a Targaryen?
So much I can talk about but gotta grab coffee first.
April 30, 2019 at 11:45 am #5865We need a Facebook messenger chat to discuss Game of Thrones. Lol.
I waited a few days to let it digest and let me really think through some of what happened.
Wow! What an episode. I mean the scope and scale to out that 80 min episode together. I watched the behind the episode Revealed earlier today. The cinematography for it was amazing. The dragons fighting in the moonlight to seeing the Dothraki “swords” being lit to then dying and I can keep going on and on there.
Arya…my girl. Made so much sense she be the one to kill the Night King. Everyone thought Jon..understandable since he always does the saving and from the books he’s probably Azor A’hai. That being said Arya has the best skillset to be sneaky as she’s a trained assassin. Loved her fight scenes with the double sided spear. Loved her quiet inside scenes. And the end. Literally minutes before it happened, I’m like we haven’t seen her in a while…she’s going to kill him. Many online hated it. Whatever.
Lady Mormont’s death. Badass little chick. It was a great ending for her. Beric served his purpose by saving Arya. Theon…how heartbreaking was that scene. “You’re a good man.” Me: 😭. Jorah dying the only way he’d really want to go…saving and protecting his Khaleesi. Sam crying on the ground…so hopeless he felt.
LOVED the musicality of the episode.
I was surprised the fight with the dead ended last night. Didn’t think we’d see the Night King last night, but, unlike many online, I’m okay with it. They’ve had stages of small battles with him last season, so it really didn’t end as quickly as lots are saying. The show is ultimately about the iron throne. I do hope we get major characters deaths in the last two episodes. Having everyone live is dumb and not really realistic. I can overlook the main characters outliving Sunday’s episode. I mean, more should have died, but all good.
My biggest and only disappointment was Bran and the the Night King’s reason. That felt incomplete to me.
