Yeah – I really want to re-watch the whole thing again, but I know it’ll be a year or so before I do. I’ve rewatched specific seasons to refresh my memory about a certain event or to refer back to a story/character development. It’s crazy seeing how much the actors have changed over time.May 3, 2019 at 12:44 pm #5893AbsParticipant@abs
Show started in 2011 for us. Probably 2009 or 2010 for the 1st season actors. Maisie, Sophie and Isaac were so young. Kit looks so young too.May 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm #5894
Just like Harry Potter. I watch the first movie and am in awe at how young they are. So crazy. Time just flies so fast.May 6, 2019 at 8:01 am #5902GWTW1939Participant@gwtw1939
Poor Missandei. And poor Greyworm. I was sad about that 🙁 I liked how they made it look like Tyrion was getting through to Cersei, and then, hell na, Cersei goes and acts like the evil person that she is. And then the zoom in on Dany. That look of fury. She was super pissed.
And Euron Greyjoy can suck it for shooting the dragon with that giant bow-and-arrow ridiculous weapon. I can’t wait until someone takes him down too.
I have really liked the pace of the show this season (and last season too). The middle seasons when I wasn’t a fan of the pacing, was when I lost the most interest. But, I like how things are moving this time.
Abs, you’ve read the books, right? Do the books indicate that Dany could have more dragons? I was wondering this season if she has more somewhere? Or if she has some dragon babies by Jon that we haven’t seen yet? In the preview, I was thinking, damn, does she have some more dragons somewhere that are gonna swoop in? Because when Missandei yelled out “dracharis” I was like “oh snap, does that mean Missandei knows that Dany has some more dragons stashed somewhere else?” Probably just wishful-thinking on my part, but it would be cool 🙂May 6, 2019 at 9:32 am #5904
I am soooooo angry.
1. No Euron did not just kill that dragon that early on in the episode. I.WAS.NOT.READY. for that. Not ready. And I’m not okay. And it was Jon’s dragon…and he wasn’t even there to even witness it. That just pisses me off because all episode it was Dany who had to 1) play second fiddle to Jon 2) witness the death of her “child” 3) witness the death of her #1 girl. Yeah, of COURSE, she’s going to be pushed to a brink….and how convenient that it’s Jon who’s going to look like the rational one.
Ugh – I’m seriously angry about it because it’s so OBVIOUS! And it’s so cliche. Yes, the man is rational. Yes the man is even tempered. Dany is emotional. Dany is unhinged. Dany is losing it. Ugh! It’s just so stereo typical. Women simply can’t be in control of their emotions.
Women don’t have penises so they won’t be followed. blah blah blah. I really hate that that’s the direction they decided to take for a woman who has won over people, has grown her army from nothing, has offered her people, her dragons and in the end it’s “well, she’s a woman”
The sad part is — it’s a predictable way to write the story. The bad part is….this is GOT…it’s not supposed to be predictable. The easy story isn’t supposed to be told. Jon being the rational one is the EASY story.
2. Cersei & her minions. I hate them all. Hate them wiht the blaze of Dany’s dragon fire. It’s infuriating that the conniving & cunning is so well done by Cersei. I’m so tired of her having the upper hand. I need to see Dany get one over on her because she is intelligent. She has seen battle and she’s dealt with more personal loss. I don’t want her to lose it all simply because she’s behaving like “a woman”
3. Sansa and that parting comment to Jaime. RMFE. You won’t support your queen. You’re undermining her. You’re not giving her a chance and that smug comment by her in the end wanted me to slap the shit out of her. I’ve always rooted for her but ugh – that was so un-Stark like.
At this point, I am rooting for Sansa to win the throne. But I want it to come at the cost of EVERYTHING she cares about. I want Jon, Dany, Arya all to die to get her to the throne. I know what she has gone through. I know her personal tragedies have helped her be who she is. I’ve loved that about her. But she can’t see past her pride to give Dany a chance….so let that pride get her the throne while all the people who have not only been through personal sacrifices but have also felt the utter devastation of the people they care about, make the ultimate sacrifice.May 6, 2019 at 9:47 am #5906
I think I would have preferred a Tormund & Brienne pairing. I never shipped Jaime & Brienne. Her crying at his leaving left me angry too. Like “Oh please, of course, the woman is crying that’s what this episode is about, right?”
Clearly, I’m angry. ha ha
Ah Arya – now she is my rock star. Happy for Gendry but knowing who she is. She is no Lady & she won’t apologize for it. Yes. That is a rock star. Love that girl.May 6, 2019 at 10:08 am #5907GWTW1939Participant@gwtw1939
I agree…I would have liked Tormund and Brienne. Cuz they were hilarious and I felt like they had actual chemistry. The Jaime & Brienne thing was kind of a let down, it was kind of an obvious conclusion. When she cried when he left, I was not a fan of that. Totally agree with you about all the woman-stuff too. I have had issues with the way women are written on this show the entire time though, so I’m not surprised. You are right though, episode 4 was about making women look like crying, irrational, unhinged, “hysterics.” Hate that! And also agree about Arya. She was a nice contrast to all of that. She was like, nope, not a lady, not gonna be a lady, don’t want to be a lady. That is awesome!May 6, 2019 at 11:23 am #5924
Oh and might I add – I was NOT happy to see Missandei die in chains. Die at sea, die in battle, die protecting her queen. Do not kill her while in chains. Nope.
Again – pissed off.
And no woman should have to be thankful for being raped to be a strong woman today. Nope. I hated that dialogue from Sansa. Maybe that’s not how the writer’s intended it to be but that’s how it sounded. Nope.
Awful awful awful.
What should have been a story about 2 bad ass females coming to a head…turned into a male chauvinist shit show.
Damn, one episode really pissed me off that much. lolMay 6, 2019 at 11:32 am #5925
All the while Jon was hiding behind a wall while his sister was killing the Night King, is off running his mouth to his sisters, no where on the front lines, doesn’t have time to pet his wolf….guy can just stumble onto the Iron Throne & the world will freakin’ praise him for it.
