Yep.
2 years and that’s what they came up with. WTF.
Dany. You.are.mad. Fine, whatever. I guess.
Cersei. Reduced to tears. Most anti-climatic end…EVER. That was the furthest of the meeting of these 2 powerful queens. Drivel.
Jaime. whhhhhaaatever.
Jon. Spineless much?
Tyrion. Talk too much, much?Arya – you’re still my girl. Thank you! Time for you to kill the other green-eyed queen. I’m sure I can count on you.
May 13, 2019 at 6:31 am #5981It was predictably bad. I don’t even have the energy to be angry. Last week took care of that for me. I knew last night was going to be a continuation of bad decision making and writing form last week. I expected it.
I hope it is Arya because she’s the only one with any spine and common sense. I did love her scenes and especially with The Hound. It was touching to see him still protecting her and trying to make her understand hate only brings you more pain.
May 13, 2019 at 7:32 am #5982The was the best part. Love their swag as the sauntered into the castle. Such a great pair.
The rest was predictable and so so bad. I know it’s GOT & we’re not supposed to expect happy endings. But that episode made NOOOOOO SENSE. What was the point of Cersei’s prophecy for all 8 seasons? Why is Tyrion so intent of reasoning about Cersei when she has never been reasoned with? He’s supposed to be the smartest character in the book. I know Dany was supposed to go mad but seriously….now all the houses, especially the Lannisters, are completely justified in obliterating the Targaryens. They made Cersei the sympathetic queen. Ugh – so awful.
Just so so bad
May 13, 2019 at 10:37 am #5983Jaime’s redemption arc made no sense if that was his ending. Cersei showing emotion at the end? Really? 🙄 Dany turning a tyrant similar Cersei…ugh. I’m done supporting Jon. Grow some spine. Tyrion…this is not the same man that killed his father. If he’s willing to sacrifice himself for thousands? Than why not Cersei who has actually harmed so many people.
The only thing I want his Arya killing Dany and then she find happiness as The Hound told her with Gendry. Jon can go lick his idiotic sounds beyond the wall. Davos should be on the throne. Lmfao.
May 13, 2019 at 10:58 am #5984Ugh! There was that moment, when Dany was sitting on her Dragon, surveying Kings Landing…the weight of her family’s destiny sitting on her shoulders…seemingly meeting Cersei’s eyes from across the rooftops – in the second I was hoping Cersei would unleash green fire. In that one second, I thought Dany was going to end up saving the people. Or at the very least, hear the words of her advisors in her ear or see Jon from below. But nope – Cersei didn’t even do anything. She just stood there. How weak! And Dany…she just brought her family full circle. And they humanized (or tried to) Cersei in the process. Such a fail.
It’s fitting that Dany would turn mad because she is her father’s daughter but what fun is that? It just proves the Lannister’s right, and that part sucks. 2 tyrant queens – yay, thanks. Great TV. [sarcasm — just in case that was missed. lol]
I wonder what role Sansa will play in the last episode. Her character is notorious for being a Trojan horse, coming in with a secret plot to save the day.
And really, we couldn’t get Yara to kill Euron? REALLY?! Too much woman power for the writers? Gotta have 2 bastard men duke it out?
May 13, 2019 at 11:02 am #5985…and no….writers, just because Jamie had his hands on Cersei’s neck at the time of their death does not mean you kept with the prophesy. That was a weak ass technicality.
Arya and her white horse….is she Death? Appropriate – if the writer’s can write intelligently enough for it.
“Then I looked and saw a pale horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth.”May 13, 2019 at 11:15 am #5986Eh whatever with Sansa. She has never been a character I enjoyed. I get her story arc. She’s part to blame for Dany burning down Kings Landing…along with Jon (I guess), Tyrion and Varys. Sansa betrayed Jon’s trust and wishes and had a hand in making Dany feel like she was alone. She made a political decision that many paid for. Good for Sansa to learn from the best.. Cersei, Ramsey and Littlefinger in how to play the game.
I really wanted Jaime to really kill his sister. Yara taking out Euron…even a fiery death would have been great.
I was also really annoyed with the dragon scenes. Last week, Rhaegal died in two seconds from a scorpion arrow. This week Dany is stealthy on Dhrogon and the scorpion arrows don’t get close to her. For real? 🙄
WRITING. SUCKED. SO. BAD. No real intelligence and intellect in their thought process for any arc really.
May 13, 2019 at 11:19 am #5987OMG YEEEES! That’s what pissed me off about the dragon scenes last week. They’re a fiery moving target! All that she did today should have happened last week. So stupid. I really don’t get why they had to rush this season so much when HBO was willing to provide them with the time & budget. It feels so rushed and so sloppy. Incredibly lazy.
And I totally agree with you about Sansa. It’s why I kind of want her to end up on the throne. She’s been maneuvering in very underhanded ways for many seasons now. She’s been wrapped in the honorable Stark cloak for awhile now but she’s been molded by the very cunning. I find her character intriguing but I can see her ending up on the throne and in essence, being just like Cersei.
Sansa knew what bomb to throw to break up Dany’s inner circle. She used her brother to do it but she did it. I think there’s definitely more stuff going on with her than we’re seeing on screen. We’ll see.
May 13, 2019 at 12:16 pm #5989Really don’t want anyone on the throne. Dany always wanted to be the breaker of chains. She’s far from that in Westeros. Maybe in Essos where she freed slaves and all. But even there she left Mereen vulnerable without a proper leadership council. The only way I can see her being the breaker of chains and wheels is to die by the throne being shattered with no one ruling monarch. Dany..or Sansa in the throne is another power hungry monarch where the people lose.
To be honest I’m glad it was rushed. If this was the ending they wanted then I’m glad it’s not prolonged. I’ve read over and over how GRRM loved how Tolkien ended LOTR…and to expect something similar. Who knows if the show writers are going to stick to that feeling of a bittersweet ending? Who ends up being the Frodo like character in this? Arya? Jon? No one fits it.
May 13, 2019 at 12:27 pm #5990Yep, her death will be the change. (I hope) Her impulses have always been tempered by her counselors and now she only fears & distrusts them. Shoot Varys was trying to off her! Her death & madness were inevitable once she started losing things that mattered to her. I just want to see the human side of her in the end. But I won’t bet on it.
I had read that Jon was supposed to represent the Shire & he would face the final ‘Sauron’. I don’t see it at all. Not even a little.
I’m glad it was rushed too given what direction they decided to go in. But why not take the time to tell a full, well thought out story instead of jam packing it all into these episode? They had no reason not to since they were offered the resources.
