For my new shelves, I am going to need some bookends. I really wanted some Gone With the Wind bookends, of course! They make so many different kinds of GWTW tchotchkes, I figured there would be some bookends out there. No such luck! So, I went to good ‘ol Etsy. If you’ve never got anything from Etsy, go check it out! I have found several hard-to-find, or specific items from the site. I’ve also had several things specifically made for me, so I love that option too.
There is a guy on Etsy who makes the coolest literary items. He makes these simple, yet cool, bookends, among other things. I sent him a message and asked him if he could make me GWTW bookends. He responded immediately, was super-nice, and I had these custom-made bookends within a week! If you’re a book nerd like me, you will love his items.
He makes items from many authors, and many book favorites. He has Tolkien/LOTR, Jane Austen, etc. Pretty much anyone you can think of. If he doesn’t have your favorite, send him a message and see if he’ll do it for you.
Here is what my bookends look like:

I snuck another house plant into the house. tee hee.
I love homes that have pops of green and I love plants. But since I don’t have a green thumb, Mike thinks it’s a waste of money. lol
But I love fiddle leaf figs. I have one in my office (which gets amazing natural light). Costco had the big ones on sale for $35 so I had to get one. It’s now standing proud and tall next to the sofa. Mike hasn’t noticed yet. But I’m in love with it!September 10, 2019 at 8:06 am #6349
haha! Good for you!! I like seeing all sorts of house plants that people have. I tried to have a few cute plants in our house when we first moved in. They grew well and were super-cute. I just could not stand the little gnatty buggies that are attracted to them. Bugs like plants, and I don’t like bugs haha! I ended up giving them away.September 13, 2019 at 12:29 pm #6372MaryroseKeymaster@maryrose-seracgmail-com
Now that I’ve finally weaned myself off of “vintage”, I’m working on replacing key furniture pieces in the house.
I was able to sell my settee last night on Facebook & now have more room to rearrange the furniture in my office. Goal is to:
1. re-do the layout
2. Replace all the curtains. I have sheer white ones in there to use as a light diffuser but since I’m not longer using it as a photo studio, I can replace it with more decorative drapes.
3. Figure out the wall design.September 20, 2019 at 7:07 am #6383
Fun! Good luck with your project. It will look so cool once you’re done!
