All right – it’s attempt #13674310357631 to try and grow a decent garden. lol
My mom is living with me right now so I have some chance of success. lolMay 4, 2019 at 5:15 pm #5898Good luck! That is great! It’s fun to try and see what happens.
I have flowers I’m proud of this year. But, still no food. Once our outdoor project is complete, I can start sizing up the yard for spots that may be good for some food growing. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for many years, but I didn’t want to undertake it until our building projects were done.
May 20, 2019 at 1:15 pm #6023Mary, how is your kitchen purge and re-organizing going? Did you have to put it on hold while your Mom is staying with you?
May 20, 2019 at 1:18 pm #6024It’s all on hold for now since my mom is staying with me. Everything is so displaced. Plus, she actually spends time in the kitchen so I kind of let her use it as she needs it. She’s loving being able to cook for the kids and find a sense of routine again.
Though Mike and I are keeping our projects in mind. He really wants to paint the cabinets gray. I really want to STAIN them gray. We’ll see who wins out. That also means we’ll have to replace the granite and update the cabinets.
May 21, 2019 at 5:51 pm #6026Cool, that’s good that she’s getting to make use of everything before you get it set up how you want it. Oooh, that will be a nice change to the cabinets. Let me know what ends up happening (who wins 🙂 !
June 24, 2019 at 9:14 am #6166The porch will be starting in July! Yay! I just HAD to go and order these particular windows that had to be special-ordered haha! So, that pushed us back, because they don’t want to do a bunch of construction & let everything sit while waiting for the windows. The windows have a delivery date now, which means our porch has a start day. Yay! We’ll have a nice beautiful (not!) dumpster in our driveway for demo & debris before long.
August 2, 2019 at 5:59 am #6266Concrete is going down today! So exciting. Sure, the concrete trucks are taking up the whole damn street, but oh well. The footers have to pass inspection, and then framing will begin probably next week. We had to have the fire pit area re-framed because it looked too small originally. We had to make a few other small practical design changes. Everything’s coming along well.
