Yes – ITA – the girl actor was sooo wooden & hollow but i feel bad for saying it because she’s a young actress. But poor choice since she was such a focus.
The nostalgia of the original is all that saved this film for me. And I did like the CGI effects for Dumbo. I’m hoping Aladdin & The Lion King fare better.
April 12, 2019 at 8:23 am #5843Everything I’ve seen from Aladdin is making me not want to watch it. Love the music from Aladdin, but it was never one of my favorite Disney movies. I’m going into Lion King really weary. It’s one of my faves and the music is my favorite of all. I don’t think they’re all going to fare as well as Beauty and the Beast. Emma Watson was a strong lead and the voices from Ian McKellen and Ewan McGregor and others really brought it to life. We shall see.
April 12, 2019 at 10:07 am #5844Yes – same for Lion King. One of my favorites with an amazing soundtrack. I was so-so with The Jungle Book so it’ll be interesting to see how this adaptation goes. The stampede scene already has me sad.
I love everything I’ve seen so far for Aladdin. This one is one of my top 5, if not top 3. I was curious to see how Will Smith would look as Genie and I’m happy so far. Though it makes me sad for Robin Williams as his voice is what I’ll always associate with the genie. I’m hoping the acting is good for Aladdin & Jasmine. I like that they’re not big names. And I really want to see their carpet ride for the song and the visuals. Also interested in seeing how much culture is infused into the film.
May 24, 2019 at 11:53 am #6030I’m just not feeling the trailers for Aladdin at all. In hindsight, it was never one of my favorite Disney movies. Enjoy some of the musical scores though. The live action…meh. I was surprised by wanting to watch Lion King though.
May 24, 2019 at 6:45 pm #6031Yeah, I remember you saying that.
It’ll be on our list to check out this weekend.Still trying to decide if I’ll check out Endgame. I’m behind on all of the other movies so it’s doubtful.
June 17, 2019 at 4:35 pm #6122Woo hoo! Finally got to watch Alladin and loved it! This one is one of my absolute favorites for it’s soundtrack & for being one of the first “independent” princesses for me to grow up with. No mooning over the pretty prince or turning your back on your family to marry one. lol Take your Little Mermaid and give me Brave or Moana.
I really liked the casting, the choreography was wonderful and just well done overall. The changes to the story was also great. Go on with your bad self you confident, self-assured princess. I really liked that part of it especially if Malia is going to grow up loving princesses. “A Whole New World” is one of my favorite Disney songs, and that scene did not disappoint. Looking forward to owning this one on DVD.
June 23, 2019 at 5:02 pm #6157Glad you enjoyed it Mary. I def won’t pay for it in the theater. I’d did for B&B because I love Belle. She’s my favorite for her love of books and she doesn’t pine for a man. I loved Moana and Brave…great princesses. My favorite Disney will always be Lion King. The music is my absolute favorite. I love there isn’t a princess – I was never a princessey kind of girl. 😊
I may go see Toy Story 4…those toys have my heart. Lol.
June 23, 2019 at 8:46 pm #6159Finally got around to watching A Star is Born. Good grief, Lady Gaga is absolutely incredible. I was in tears at the end.
June 24, 2019 at 8:30 am #6162We’re gonna try to hit-up Toy Story 4 this weekend. Rhett is still young enough to be interested in it, so I’m excited to see what they do in this movie.
July 9, 2019 at 12:48 pm #6202Toy Story 4 was adorable (and a little creepy!) LOL
I love the Toy Story movies for the way they capture the different phases of childhood & this one stayed along that route.
Oh Max clung to his monster trucks when he started school. Malia loved her Pua pig all through Kinder. The safety that comes with them is so heart warming. And the characters….Woody will always be my favorite for his devotion. 🙂 Love!
