Share and recall your favorite movies from back in the day…
I’ve been thinking a lot about 80s movies recently, as Rhett asked me if he could watch Ghostbusters. And there are several other 80s movies he’s ready for. Makes me feel old though! I’ll tell him “I used to watch that a million times when I was little” and then he always says he wants to see it too. From “Goonies” to “Back to the Future.” So fun!
Okay, so Scott had an “man, I feel old” moment today. Most of his team are under 30, mostly millenials. They were in a meeting today, and Scott quoted “A Few Good Men” cuz he always says “Did you order the Code Red?” He said not one of them knew what he was talking about. They had no clue. So they Googled it, and were like “dude, that came out before I was even born.” OMG, he felt so old haha!
It’s amazing, isn’t it? It doesn’t feel that long ago, but when you count it, it does.
I think anyone born in the 90s as super young but they’re not. I can’t even fathom the 2000s. lol
I hope they all went out and redboxed the movie. 🙂
Haha! I said the same thing. I was like, okay, now they all have to go watch it.
Rhett saw ET for the first time earlier this year, and he loves it. That’s a great 80s movie to pass on to the kiddos.
The 80s movie trend continues. Over the break, Rhett watched Goonies and Back to the Future. He loves them! Probably Goonies a little bit more because he says he wants to go look for pirate treasure 🙂
He also saw The Wizard of Oz before Christmas, and he loves it! This year is the 80th anniversary of the best year in film, 1939, so several movies are coming out in theaters including GWTW. We are going to see Wizard of Oz in the theaters later this month. Super excited to get Rhett on the track of classic film. Hopefully, this is just the beginning!
