Oh boy – here it is….definitely a lot of shuffling around now. Malia’s run club started up. So that’s added to hula and swim. Her faith formation class starts next week too. Thankfully Max is perfectly content with his boxing classes.
My mommy time management skills are definitely being put to the test. But she loves all her activities so I’ll support her best I can. She’s officially signed up for her first swim meet for next Saturday. Woot woot!
Good luck! You got this!!
Malia’s swim meet was so good. I was so proud of her.
Of course, in the sports world, seconds mean everything. She clocked in at 33 seconds in her freestyle. I thought it was amazing for her first race and it definitely lit a fire in her. But man, the there were kids who were .1-1sec ahead of her. But still it was so fun to watch. Her backstroke was the one I was nervous about because she was always flipping onto her stomach too early because she was afraid of hitting the wall. We were worried she would be DQ’d but she rocked it.
We’re happy to get some base line numbers for her and look forward to how she grows with the sport.
Just before the winter break, Malia asked me if she could join boxing. Max is already enrolled and I think the activities peaked her interest. I had her try out a few classes to really try it out & at the end of it she was all in. So she officially started boxing classes this January & is amazing in it. I can’t wait to see how she develops. If anything, the conditioning portion of the class will only strengthen her more for swim.
And now that his sister is in the class, Max is even more excited. it’ll be good to see them both progress. Hopefully it transition them to Muay Thai over time. That’s where I’d like to see them both go.
