We took the kids on a weekend getaway to Lake Tahoe. Mike and I have been working extra hours both so it was nice to just have a few days to relax and enjoy the family. We discovered some great local spots and spent a lot of time using the hotel amenities. Yay for semi Stay-cations. 🙂May 3, 2018 at 11:03 am #4951
Awesome! I would love to visit there one day. Are you getting super-excited for Hawaii?May 4, 2018 at 11:15 am #4968
Oh! Maui isn’t happening. I had a client who wanted me to do their vow renewals, but they had some unexpected finance issues so it was post-poned. BUMMER! I’ll have to wait on Hawaii a little longer.May 8, 2018 at 4:46 am #4989
Bummer dude! Darn! You’ll still have something to look forward to 🙂June 21, 2018 at 12:10 pm #5094
Disneyland was so much fun. As crowded and crazy as it is, it’s so worth it to see the kids so happy. Disney vacations are so much easier than even Hawaii vacations. They’re so completely engaged and happy with everything they do. Max was able to ride most of the rides this time (at least all the ones his sister can go on) so it was a much more complete experience for him. We go back again in September which isn’t soon enough for them. lol
3 more weeks until we hit Europe. I totally can’t wait for that!June 29, 2018 at 7:20 am #5103
Awesome! Some of my memories of California as a kid include Disneyland, truly my happy place (until my dad tricked me into going on Space Mountain at 4 years old! Yup, I’m still traumatized by that haha!)
We really do want to take Rhett out there soon. Maybe we can talk about meeting you guys out there in 2019. That would be so fun!
What is California Adventure? Did you all do that too? Is it a park nearby Disneyland?June 29, 2018 at 12:05 pm #5108
Oh – California Adventure is adjacent to Classic Disneyland. The main plaza separates to two entrances and you just pick which one you’ll go to (for a price, of course) It has it’s own set of rides, parades and shows. Since we usually go 2-3 days, we get a park hopper and go to both parks. Just another way to spend more money. I love Disneyland for the nostalgia but California Disney has it’s own perks. Cars Land is there and Max ADORES it. The Cars ride is one of the most popular rides, as is Soarin’. Guardians of the Galaxy (formerly the Tower of Terror) is a great ride too. I actually prefer California Adventure to Disneyland but a trip to Disneyland doesn’t feel complete without all of the classic rides or the castle, so we always do both.
Heck yeah we’d meet up with you. We always plan our trips to Disney around the Southwest $39 sale but we never complain about a trip to Disneyland. 🙂July 1, 2018 at 11:42 am #5110
Awesome! I will keep that on my mind and re-visit that with you as we come up with travel plans for 2019 (which we’ll probably do toward the end of 2018).August 1, 2018 at 11:02 am #5129
The Mediterranean was AMAZING. Truly AMAZING! Definitely one of my favorite trips to date. My Euro-travel bug has bitten again. 🙂
Jet lag is painful this week but we’re dealing. 🙂
Some of the kids favorite things:
The pizza is so good! – Max
The boys sing really good in Italy – Malia
I love their ice cream! – Max and Malia
Black noodles look like worms in dirt but delicious – Malia’s comment about the cuttlefish pasta. ha haAugust 6, 2018 at 9:13 am #5146
Yay! So glad to hear that you all had fun, and I had so much fun seeing your photos. Jealous of the gelato you got to eat haha!
