We are super excited. Rhett will love it! Some of my favorite & most memorable childhood memories are when we would go to Disneyland in the early 1980s, so I am so excited to go again!! I can’t wait to see you all again, and Rhett is excited to see Max & Malia again 🙂
January 18, 2019 at 9:42 am #5704Looks like we’re Vegas bound for Spring Break. Not exactly thrilled. I have a conference to attend so we might as well make a trip out of it. I tend to stay away from the strip as much as possible so we’ll probably hang out with family. At least the Vegas food scene is good. That always makes up for the insanity.
February 6, 2019 at 10:07 am #5755I still have never been to Vegas! Not sure it’s my thing, but everyone tells me I should go haha!
Getting sooooo excited for Disneyland! I will start packing next week!
February 6, 2019 at 11:02 am #5756Nope – I hate Vegas so much. I really don’t think you’d like it. I only go for something work related and I try to head out of the strip as quickly as possible. Vegas size pricing, crowds and craziness. Ugh! Even in my barhopping days, omg, what a chore.
February 8, 2019 at 6:04 pm #5759LOL, you are right. I probably wouldn’t like it. I have been tempted to try it a few times to see one of the shows there. And also because of the vintage history. But every time I think about it, I’m like, nah, there’s too many other places I’d rather go 🙂
February 11, 2019 at 11:37 am #5762Old Vegas would probably be cool. The “Light Museum” would probably be more up your alley – where the old Vegas signs go to “die”. And yes, a show would be nice. I’d rather go to NYC & watch a Broadway show there than on Vegas. I saw Phantom of the Opera in Vegas and hated it. It felt so out of place.
You could probably do Vegas and do a very specific trip. Do an “old vegas” tour with a show thrown in. Head to Hoover Dam or the Red Rocks for outdoor exploration. But the strip itself is so unenjoyable for me. Even the hotels aren’t fun for me. You’d think you could avoid the crowds on the street by going to the hotel pool or spa but those are either over priced or a crowded hot mess of silicon….and mostly drunk. lol Fail!
Seriously, I sound like such a negative nelly. It may be wonderful but I’m so far removed from it that I don’t know what the cool stuff is anymore. 🙂
February 14, 2019 at 9:30 am #5768I’ve always wanted to see Hoover Dam! That old stuff sounds really cool too!! Nah, you’re not negative. I’ve heard similar from other people too. I feel like some people love Vegas, and some don’t. Like cruises. Some people love them, some don’t.
March 8, 2019 at 1:11 pm #5806Rhett has talked about Disneyland every single day 🙂 He is obsessed with Dumbo now, and he is excited for the new Dumbo movie. My neighbor was kind enough to let us borrow the old Dumbo, and we’ve watched it every single day! There are official opening dates for Star Wars Galaxy Edge (May 31 for Disneyland, Aug. 31 for Disney World), and Rhett (and me!) are super excited about that. We can’t wait to check it out next year!
March 11, 2019 at 9:21 am #5807Yes – the new opening dates were a buzz around here too. Lines are going to be insaaaaane! Hopefully that means shorter lines in other areas of the park. lol That’s sweet that he loved Dumbo so much. I love what kids come away with after a trip to Disney. It’s always different.
March 12, 2019 at 6:03 pm #5811He’s excited about Toy Story 4 too! I think it looks cute.
