Oh my goodness – allergy season is gonna be the death of our family this year.
Any plans for Mother’s Day? I asked Mike to paint my office grey. Woot woot! No more nursery room colors. 🙂May 9, 2019 at 6:11 am #5953
Oooooh, that will look nice! Nope, no plans here. Sundays are the worst day. If Mother’s Day was for real, it would be during a day that kids are in school so that moms can actually take some time for their selves! haha! Sundays are just super busy for us. Especially in May. May is insane. We have so much going on, it’s scary to look at the calendar. This Sunday, Rhett has golf lessons, hitting lessons, and baseball practice all in one day. Plus, there’s a ton of stuff I have to do on Sundays for the following week. So, nope, nothing great here. Usually, we try to go to a nice family dinner the following weekend to actually take the time out to celebrate, and that works out pretty good.May 9, 2019 at 9:48 am #5959
We always head to the Napa Valley. It’ll just be me, mom and my sister. Champagne Brunch with my kids is a chore. lol Daddy can handle them while I lounge around wine country ha haMay 13, 2019 at 11:34 am #5988
Mother’s day was fun. Mike painted my office gray. YAY! And it looks 100x better. My sister, mom and I had lunch at Bistro Jeanty in Yountville. My first Michelin star restaurant experience. It was fantastic! Loved the atmosphere, the food and the town. Yountville is one of my favorite Napa Valley towns. A good day all around.
Now I’m looking forward to Memorial Day weekend.May 13, 2019 at 6:35 pm #5992
Awesome! Your pics of your brunch looked so nice. That restaurant looked great!
We are doing a Mother’s Day re-do this weekend because I ended up being sick starting on Thursday. This one has hit me hard. I toughed it out for Rhett’s piano recital, although we did not stay because I had a fever. I feel about 40% better today, so I’ll take that! Hopefully, I’ll feel a little better each day. Rhett has missed no days of school this year, which is awesome. He only has 7 days left, so he’s in the home stretch!

Awwww, I hate when you get sick. It hits you so hard. I hope you feel better!May 14, 2019 at 6:07 pm #6002
So far, nothing crazy with the swelling or any of that stuff. But yeah, my immune system has been bad for the last few weeks. I think that’s why this one was worse, because my immune system was not at 100% for a few weeks leading up to it. I really empathize with people who have immune disorders. It sucks even dealing with what I deal with, I can’t imagine it being worse. It’s such a strange thing as a human to have your own body attack itself. I feel like curing immune system disorders should be right up there with curing cancer. So many people suffer. Sad!
I have never received an actual diagnosis for anything either. Which is even crazier. I can only guess and conjecture based on what happens to me. One thing I am convinced of though, is when I had the first incident of the (probably) virus back in 2013, it destroyed my gut immunity. I believe that 100%. I have never been right in my gut since then. There’s no way to “fix” that either. I can do my best with diet and whatnot, but I can’t get it back. Totally sucks!May 24, 2019 at 7:08 pm #6032
Any fun plans for the holiday weekend?
We’re staying local but there’s a lot to do. Trying to get the kids outdoors and get their blood flowing. Tons of community events to partake in so it should be pretty eventful. We still have 2 more weeks of school left but I can tell we’re all going into Summer mode. lolMay 27, 2019 at 6:36 pm #6054
We didn’t do anything special this weekend. My parents wanted us to meet them at Hilton Head, but we couldn’t because we thought Rhett might have a golf match, and also I had tickets to a show with a friend. Turns out, after Rhett getting perfect attendance for 2nd grade, he ended up getting sick for the weekend. He ended up having a cold, and had a fever. So, it wasn’t terrible. We took him in to the doc on Friday for a strep test just in case, not wanting to have that going on over the holiday weekend. Luckily it was a negative. It has been super crazy hot here for over a week, with no end in sight. It’s been temps in the high 90s, feels over a 100, high humidity and zero rain. Apparently there is some weather system that is causing all of this unusually rough weather. The middle of the country is getting it in their own way which is terrible too. It’s been unbearable to be outside unless you go from about 6am-8am, or you’re in water/pool. We ran to a new playground this morning super early at like 7am. We have been working double time to keep our yard alive. I’ve invested so much time and money into it, we have to work hard to keep it going when the weather is so extreme like this.May 28, 2019 at 9:20 am #6062
Yeah, the weather has been really weird. We got rain a couple of days and it’ll be in the 90s this week. So confusing.
I hope Rhett is feeling better.
We watched Hamilton on Thursday night and it was so amazingly good. The cast of this SF run was absolutely fantastic.
Malia went to a local theater show over the weekend that her friend was in. She loved that. She was so excited to see her friend on stage – super cute.
We had the kids practice on the bikes & played a little tennis. Overall a fun Memorial Day weekend. Though it was hard to get them up for school today.
