We like to take advantage of several free kids crafts & activities in our area. Here are a couple of our family favorites. Check your local stores to find out if these activities are offered where you live.
1) Home Depot — Our local Home Depot stores offer free kids’ crafts on the 1st Saturday of every month. The craft varies each time. The kids get an orange Home Depot smock/apron to wear. When the craft is complete, the kids also get a pin with the craft displayed on the pin. My son likes to collect the pins, and pin them onto his smock. This is free in our area. Check with your local Home Depot store, or look online. Online, here is what our next craft will be: http://workshops.homedepot.com/workshops/kids-workshops
2) Lakeshore Learning (educational store) — Our local Lakeshore Learning store offers free kids’ crafts every Saturday morning. The kids get to sit down in the craft area, and work on the craft offered that day. They can make the mess in the store, instead of at home! Check with your local Lakeshore Learning store, or look online.

Awe, I used to go to those Home Depot crafts days when I was a kid! I didn’t know they still did that, awesome!
I’ve always wanted to go to our local Home Depot or Lowes. I’m just waiting for the right project. 🙂
