I love Fridays. After a week of looking at the screen, transporting the kiddo to and from daycare, then rushing home to get dinner started, it’s nice to take the long way home, swing by Chick-Fil-A and hang out at our favorite family park. Friday playdates are a welcomed relief from the week’s stresses.
For me, it’s a way to simply unwind. I want the fresh air. I want my daughter to enjoy the fresh air. I get to sit on the park bench, watch her run and climb, laugh and meet new people (or in most cases, gawk at anyone that dares to try and befriend her)
If I’m really lucky, she’ll expend all of her seemingly unending energy and go to sleep immediately after bath time. Isn’t that a great way to end a Friday and start the weekend? That’s practically a vacation for me these days.
