Jelly Belly – it’s my daughter’s version of the Willie Wonka Factory. If she could swim in a pool of jelly bellies, she totally would. Maxim would walk around, belted to his stroller for a lollipop. Throw in some live music, pony and carnival rides and a warm California Fall day, it’s bound to be a day of fun.
The Candy Palooza at the Jelly Belly Factory in our hometown of Fairfield, California is a fun, annual local event perfect for families. Free parking and admission make it a great way to spend a day.
I loved the Air Force Band that sang a lively selection of cover songs. They were entertaining, engaging and a lot of fun.
My kids adore the petting zoo and the pony rides. I was excited for Maxim who rode his first pony. And my heart broke a little that Malia didn’t need me to walk beside her this year. She picked out her white pony with the pink saddle and went off to the attendant to get lifted up.
Maxim was even tall enough to ride the rides with his big sister – with mommy beside him of course. Malia, on the other hand, was happy to be tall enough to ride on her own and help the teacup spin.
And who can beat the large selection of jelly bellies inside the Jelly Belly Factory? Malia made a beeline for the Hello Kitty jelly beans. She contained herself and happily limited herself to one item.
