It’s the first day of October! I don’t know about you but this makes me happy. I love Fall and October 1st just feels like a great day to usher in this season of change.
Speaking of change, that means I need to start thinking about Fall decor for the home and prepping the kids for the Halloween festivities. It doesn’t sound like too much of a daunting task, but for this mom, it totally is. I’ll be planning and prepping early for all the Fall fun.
Some goals for the month of October:
- Store away my Spring and Summer clothes. I like a simple, clean and organized closet. It’s easier for me to get ready when I have core pieces to choose from. So I’ll be pulling out my summer pieces and keeping them stored away.
- Decorate the front porch with Fall decor. We won’t be home for the Halloween Festivities, but I still like decorating the front porch with Fall decor until Thanksgiving hits. Here’s a pinterest board of Fall Decor Inspiration.

- Plan our “Alice in Wonderland” themed costumes for Halloween at Disneyland. This one should be fun. We’re planning on attending Mickey’s Halloween Bash. I found an Alice in Wonderland costume at the thrift store for $1.50 for Malia. Maxim will be an adorable white rabbit. Hubby and I will be the Mad Hatter and the March Hare….or maybe Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum? Either way, it’ll be fun!
