Every now and then I need a restart button. Creativity is lacking. Time is scarce. Motivation is lacking or my attention is simply diverted elsewhere.
More importantly, I need to make sure my kids are getting the attention they need and deserve.
That is where I’ve been the last few weeks. From ballet lessons to weekend adventures, I had to take a step back and focus on the important things. It became more about deadlines and rules instead of fresh air and quality time. That’s not a good thing.
So I’m Not Blogging Today.
That was my motto for the last few weeks. And that’s OKAY! Every person needs this moment. It’s much like staring at the same report all day and not getting anywhere with it. Then you put it down, sleep on it and look at it with fresh eyes in the morning and the problem you were trying to solve is resolved.
The break has been good for me. My mind is a little less burdened and the time away gave me a new perspective and renewed energy. There are bigger things in life than work and rules. There’s a life waiting to be lived. I had so many moments where I simply sat down and observed. It’s refreshing to have these moments. The grind comes back but the burden is lighter.
Now I’m ready to face the summer with renewed energy and more inspiration. I’m ready to see what adventures my kids will go on and to capture more of life as it happens.
How do you jump start your motivation? What’s inspiring you today?
