For years I’ve given up things like candy, coffee – even shopping. The last couple of years I’ve focused more on spiritual and personal growth over the small things like candy.
Lent has become another chance for me to reflect on my blessings, address my weaknesses and fears and place them in God’s hands. This year my Lenton promises include giving up my:
- Fear of Failure: I will trust in the strengths given to me. I will keep fear from keeping from pursuing my dreams and happiness. I will live in faith that every journey has a lesson.
- Procrastination: I won’t put off what can be done today. I’ll face challenges, stop giving into laziness and be more proactive in my actions.
- Impatience: God has given me Grace. It’s time I started practicing it.
Lent is 40 days but the lessons learned in those 40 days can have much more lasting affects. I look forward to the blessings I’ll receive this season.
