10 years ago, I worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to train for my first marathon. I knew that running 26.2 miles would be a major event for me but I never realized how much I would be touched by the experience. Beyond training for the race, I learned more about the LLS programs to raise money to fund research to help find a cure for blood cancers. I met wonderful and inspirational people who are living with cancer or lost loved ones to the disease – who’s race to find a cure was a far more difficult one than the one I was on.
Part of the marathon training program involved raising money that could help find that cure. It was hard work but so incredibly rewarding.
I’m happy to take part in another LLS event at the Light the Night walk in Napa. Become a bright light and donate to my fundraising page. I’ll be taking part in the event with my family with me. Visit my fundraising page to make a donation.
