Light in our Home
I love walking through my house and finding pockets of light to photograph the kids in. It’s hard sometimes since I work during the day and the sun usually starts to set by the time I get dinner completed or played with the kids.
When we do get around to having a day at home, I like to keep a look out for light around the house. I particularly love afternoons in our living room when I can sit back and simply observe the light of the sun moving across the room as the day approaches night. It’s usually at this time that the kids like to sit at the table to play with puzzles or color together before I start prepping our evening meal. The sun sets behind our house, filling the room with warm light and moving the lines of the blinds across their faces.
Here are a couple of moments captured in our home.

As I’ve mentioned, I happen to love the lines of light caused by the blinds. It’s such a unique detail to have and creates a natural pattern to the composition. I have a table set-up against the wall of windows that allowed me to capture these images.
