It’s that time of the year. Time to reflect on what I’ve done, where I’ve gone and what’s coming up.
I happen to love New Year’s resolutions because it gives me a chance to sit down and set new goals for myself. To push myself harder and make myself better. I don’t always get to where I want to be but the effort is always there.
So this year, my word of the year is PUSH. Push myself harder. Push past boundaries. Push myself outside of my own comfort zone. I won’t list anything specific other than every week I’m going to try something new; whether it’s a new recipe, a new running route, a new photo technique – the point is I’m going to push myself to be better than I was the week before. 🙂
I’m also hoping to finish a 365 Daily project, where I take a photo a day. It’s a way for me to push myself creatively and techniquely with my photography. I also hope to make it a photo book at the end of the year. 🙂
2013 was an incredible year for me. I got to watch my little girl grow. I met my son and fell in love with another guy. I returned to the running circuit (painfully, but happily). We settled into a home and am finally easing into a routine that works for us. My photography work grew in leaps and bounds in a way I never could have imagined.
I learned this year that if I put love into what I do then it reaps positive rewards. I’ve owned my choices. I live my passions and I’m comfortable with who I am and in what I do. I couldn’t have asked for a better year. 🙂
