Do you need a way to organize your pantry? Here’s an easy idea for pantry storage – magazine bins!
As my son is getting older, he’s eating a LOT more. I keep many more snacks in the house for him than I used to. His items now take up one entire side of our pantry. He takes a lunch to school every day, so I have to keep a variety of lunch snacks on hand for his daily lunch. Like many people, I stock up on snack-packs and buy snacks in bulk to save money. The snacks come in huge boxes that take up a lot of room, and that is my biggest complaint about them. They are not easy to store!
While at the educational store, Lakeshore Learning, I saw these cute, sturdy magazine/book bins in fun colors. I had an idea! (Or a “vision,” as I call me decorating ideas : ) ).
I could use these bins in my pantry to store items. Who says you have to put magazines or books in them? You can use them however you want! The bin police won’t arrest you, I promise.
Magazine Bin Storage Tips
**Organizing tip: Think outside of the box! Literally. If you see bins or other organizational items that you like, think of using them in a different way. Maybe in your closet? Your garage? Your kitchen or pantry?
I waited to get some good Lakeshore coupons, and I bought a bunch of these bins. You can buy them in-store or online at lakeshorelearning.com.
It is very easy for my son to see all of his snacks. And they are easier to access too. Keeping things organized like this helps me to keep track of inventory, so I know what to buy.
You can use the label in the front to label your items. Honestly, my labels look pretty and nice now, but I don’t see myself using them all of the time. Because my son’s taste in snacks changes all the time. Right now he loves Scooby snacks, a year ago, he wouldn’t touch the things. I don’t think I have the patience to keep changing out the labels!
**Organizing tip: Measure first! Make sure that your bins are going to fit in your space. I measured my shelves to find out how many bins I would be able to fit. I had to move my shelf height around to accommodate the height of the bins.
