I was asked the other day, “What’s the first thing you can’t wait to do again after giving birth?”.
I couldn’t really think of anything at the time. I gave up heavy caffeine consumption a long time ago and managed fine with one cup of decaf. I’ve never been much of an alcohol drinker so I didn’t miss that at all. Rare meat, I missed that – but lost my taste for meat during the pregnancy so it’s really not a big deal.
Then I realized what I really miss…..
SUSHI!!
Oh man, do you think they serve sushi in a hospital? LOL!
Seriously, I miss the poke tacos from Gott’s Roadside. I was heartbroken during our last trip to Maui, when I had to pass up every chance to eat some ahi poke. I miss the sashimi appetize plate at Mad Fish. I just miss sushi, period.
So that’s one of the first things I truly look forward to having, post-pregnancy.
In a very close second….long runs and hikes up Pena Adobe. I know I probably could have continued running during my pregnancy, but I was so risk averse there’s no way I could have done it.
