Uh, week 35? What?
Only 5 weeks left – where did the third trimester go?! YIKES!
Well, Week 35 has me ringing in the new year. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This New Year is 1,000x different from any other new year. Never before have I anticipated a new year the way I have this one. It’s hard to believe that for 2.5 years, Mike and I were hoping and praying to start a family together. And now, here we are, on the cusp of parenthood….knowing that our lives are never going to be the same. I could cry from the newness of it all; laugh at the joy that it brings; praise and thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful and complete life.
As baby birth day approaches, I feel a strange mix of fear, excitement, happiness and anxiety. Factor in some exhaustion from the sleepless nights, some hormonal shifts, more aches and pains and I’m a mess of emotions. LOL
But I’m right where I should be at 35 weeks.
Fatigue has set in with a vengeance. I was expecting to be this tired in the first trimester but I find myself falling asleep at random times much more often than ever before. Walking across the room is an effort. Walking up the stairs is like a marathon. Geez!
She’s taking up more room now – to the point where I can see her movements across the plane of my belly. And there’s barely any room for food anymore. My guess is the decrease in food consumption is factoring into my exhaustion levels. And yikes, I gained 4 pounds in just the last 2 weeks. That’s my biggest gain since the first trimester. Sheesh! It’s showing on the belly too. Before, the stretch marks were limited to the lower belly area. Now, they’re creeping slowly upward. dun dun dun!
5 more weeks (or less!)
