Pumpkin Decorating Alternatives
For Halloween this year, I wanted to keep our pumpkin decorating fairly simple, and try a few new decorations. To make things simpler, I decided not to carve any pumpkins. Here are a few quick, easy alternatives to pumpkin carving.
1. Pumpkin stickers/tattoos
I found these pumpkin stickers at JoAnn Fabric & Craft store. They caught my eye because they looked simple, but still cute. I liked that they had a shiny, jewel-like bling feel.
You can also find some Bling Decor on Amazon. (afflink)
Simply peel the stickers off the backing paper, and apply to your pumpkin. Choose a pumpkin that is not too big, or the stickers will appear too small on the pumpkin.
Tip: Make sure your pumpkin is clean before you apply the stickers.

2. Pumpkin “Push-In” Kit
I found this pumpkin decorating kit at JoAnn Fabric & Craft store too! They had several DC comics characters, including Batman and Wonder Woman. Check online or on Amazon for other push-in kits. In past years, I have seen Star Wars kits, Minions kits, princess kits.
All you have to do is take a hammer or rubber mallet, and make a hole with the “push in” provided. Then, you can stick the pieces in the spots where you made the holes. You may need to hammer down on the pieces a little bit for a better fit. For our Batman kit, we had to remove the stem on the top of the pumpkin, in order to insert Batman’s head.
Tip: You can paint your pumpkin first, before inserting the kit pieces, to add dimension and interest. We painted our Batman pumpkin gray first.
