Oh, I should have known better. I mean, c’mon, it couldn’t be uneventful the entire pregnancy now could it? LOL
Well, I’ve been truly lucky and blessed to have had a pretty drama-free, and dare I say, enjoyable pregnancy. And the last few weeks have been progressing really well. Baby girl has been head down, slowly working her way down….that is until today.
I had an NST on Tuesday and had my amniotic fluid checked out. And like prior appointments, she was head down. Then today, at my weekly appointment, my doctor discovers that she is no longer head down but is now head up. Nice. Great. Way to flip the script on us baby girl. This kind of changes the scenario a bit, especially at 39 weeks. The good thing is that, to date, I’m not at all dilated so labor isn’t coming quite yet…but…
- It’s going to be really hard to turn her this late in the game….and it’s unlikely she’ll turn herself around again. Though dr thought she was still on the smaller side, so she still has room in there.
- If I go into labor, it’s even more important that I make it to the hospital in a timely manner. Breech delivery is not a good thing. Great, no pressure!
- Natural delivery vs C-section? Well, I wanted a natural birth. That was always my hope and my plan. Looks like she may have other things in mind because if she doesn’t turn, then I’ll most likely have a scheduled C-section just to stay on the safe side and that there is no fetal distress.
awww. I’d be so upset, but those babies can turn anytime. My friend just had her baby last summer and that baby turned itself during labour. What a dramatic story, though I’d be worried to risk a breech birth.
Good luck turning the sweet baby girl! I heard chiro’s help a lot.
