“There are only 940 Saturdays between a child’s birth and her leaving for college….If your child is 5 years old, 260 Saturdays are gone. Poof!” (Source: Parents Magazine, March 2012)
Yikes! This was kind of depressing. Everyone always tells me to “enjoy it while it lasts”, and it’s so true. Time goes so fast when you’re a parent. Just a few weeks ago Malia’s head fit so perfectly in my hand. Now my shoulder gets sore from carrying her around – sheesh, and she’s going to get heavier!
I’ve got about 1 week left until she fully outgrows her newborn close, and it’s got me so teary-eyed. One second her little onesie was loose and didn’t fit her well. Now I’m amazed at how small and tiny she was when she was born….as I’m forcing her arm into the sleeve of her not-so-loose onesie. [sniff] My big, growing girl.
Now of course, I adore the fact that she’s starting to see shapes and objects; smiles at her parents’ crazy antics; grasps my hand or her binky with more coordination; talks to us with that gurgling, cooing sound that she makes. I just love it. But time is moving so fast! By the time I press the record button on my bloggie, she’s moved on to the next milestone and I’m left scrambling to capture the memory.
Thank goodness for iphone cameras.
