Between photographing clients and chasing my kids around town with my camera, I love an opportunity to simply shot for the sheer pleasure of it. That is what inspired this month’s 5 on 5 set of images.
5 on 5: Tomatillos
My sister shared an instagram photo of dried tomatillos from her garden and I immediately thought, “I’ve got to photograph it!”
So that is what I did. I spent a Sunday morning photographing the delicate cages left behind and the seeds still captured inside.
I spent the better part of the morning with these fruit and my Canon 100mm Macro lens. Sitting in front of my sister’s large window and adjusting the delicate pieces provided a morning of inspiration and creativity. It’s wonderful to be able to play with my photography for myself in this way and I always enjoy myself.
Here are some of my favorite tomatillos from the morning shoot.
I am in love with the details and patterns in the tomatillos.
This black & white was one of my favorites. I love how the light from the kitchen window bounces off of the webbing.
