2017 marks the year I turn 40. A milestone year for sure. This year, it’s a go big or go home. The best thing about my 20s was all the amazing travel I got to do before having a family. Since 40 is the new 20, I’m totally traveling as much as I can this year.
My Travel Bucket List for My 40th Year
Santorini
The gorgeous blue water. The white buildings. Hot summers. Please, oh please. This is my #1 destination for this year. If I make this happen, I might be set. Okay, not quite set but pretty darn close. This one will be without the kids. Not because I don’t love and adore traveling with them but I would want to immerse myself in this trip.
Camping by the Beach
We tend to be lakeside campers. This year I want to camp by the beach. I want to feel sand in my toes and hear waves crashing. The kids can join me on this trip.
Girls Trip
New York City or another grand adventure. I don’t care where it is so long as I’m with my favorite girlfriends (and my sister too) Love you sister!
Southern Italy or Southern France
Since things are starting to move down south, I might as well stick with the theme. I LOVED my trip to France last year. It re-ignited my wanderlust. It reminded me of my first trip to Europe when we went to Italy and France. I would love to venture to the southern regions and enjoy all the views and wonderful eating.
Destination: Snowboard
Whether it’s at Whistler or Aspen, I’d love to visit a snow destination.
The Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC
I keep putting this off despite all of the promises made to my east coast cousins. Perhaps a weekend getaway is now in order.
Maui, Hawaii
Maui is our normal destination but I want to go back this year and do all the wonderful hikes that I’ve been putting off. I want to see the sun rise over Haleakala or sit in the bamboo forest. I want to enjoy Maui as an adventure, not so much leisure.
Palawan, Philippines
It has been so long since I’ve been to the Philippines. I would love to return and experience it’s beautiful waters, meet friendly people and eat all the wonderful food.
Since I only have 8 weeks of vacation this year, I’ll leave the list at that. I’d love to hit all of the places on this travel bucketlist but will happily extend it into 2018 if I have to.
Where will your wanderlust take you this year? Share it in our comments.
Great list! I hope you get to all of these places. I would totally love any of the overseas destinations!! (I’ll stowaway in your suitcase, LOL 🙂 )
We must plan a trip together again. 🙂
