This week, Malia learned about bike safety at her school in preparation for her Trike-a-thon for St Jude. It was her first organized event and very first fundraiser. All week she practiced on her tricycle and worked hard to move faster down our street and keep her momentum going. I was so proud of her efforts and her enthusiasm. She took the first turn and I held my breath. But she took her time pedaling and maneuvered her way around the curve. Her legs pumped in excitement with a smile breaking across her face as she smiled up at me.
I was also proud of her support system. Together we raised almost $500.00. WOO HOOO! Thank you guys so much for your generosity.
Because St. Jude freely shares the scientific breakthroughs it makes, your family is helping patients in communities around the world. You’re also helping ensure that families at St. Jude never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
If you didn’t get the chance to donate, you still have time. Visit Malia’s Fundraising page to send in your donation.
