I thought I had this thing mastered.
Not so much.
Once Malia broke the 8 pound mark, I was certain I was going to take full advantage of the Moby.
She had other plans.
Apparently, she has her daddy’s dislike of being to hot. So after successfully getting her into the moby and having her rest against my chest, it took a matter of seconds before she was screaming bloody murder. I’d never heard that noise come out of her before and it terrified the crap out of me.
I turned to Mike add, in a pitch pretty close to Malia’s, yelled at him to untie the moby….and quick.
He wasn’t doing it quickly enough and I was quickly thrown into a panic, telling him to “untie me! Untie me!” Two seconds later, I would have run after the scissors to cut her out of the darn thing.
It all happened in a matter of seconds, but it felt like ages – especially with her screaming against my chest. Yikes!
Needless to say, I’ve packed up the moby.
I’m too traumatized by the unfortunate event.
(PS: This is not to say the moby isn’t a great product. I was at a consignment sale a few days after the incident and a bunch of mommies were shopping very comfortably with their babies in place. I was envious….)
we have the moby and the k-tan and I will tell you Nathan did exactly the same thing. He was just not a fan of the warmth or the cradle positions, but when I turned around so he was facing outward he loved it! I actually go grocery shopping with him in one, but again he has to has to be facing out to see everything and feel the wind in his face :). Maybe babywearing will still work for you in a few weeks. Can’t hurt to try again
