I’ve been focusing so much on enjoying Malia’s growth and development that I forget that I promised to track pregnancy #2 as well.
I’m in week #16 of this pregnancy and yep, it’s different. I still have no desire for any particular foods other than milkshakes. Yes, it IS a food. A very good one that keeps this baby VERY happy.
Biggest change this week: The belly! I officially feel like I’ve gone from the “Is she pregnant?” belly to the “Awww, look at your baby belly!” belly. And this time around, I feel like I’m waaaaaaaay bigger than when I was pregnant with Malia. Yikes! I’ve got my straddle walk making a come back.
Pregnancy symptoms: Morning sickness is lingering much longer this time around than the first. I’m still in a constant state of nausea with the occassional vomitting. I attribute it mostly to the hunger. I just don’t eat enough to fill my stomach and that leaves me nauseous. As does forcing myself to eat something that I don’t find particularly satisfying..which is everything except milkshakes.
Movement: Nothing consistent yet. Just the occassional flutters here and there…..or are they hunger pains? LOL
Gender: 4 more weeks. I’m predicting BOY since I seem to be pointier this time around. LOL Filipino superstition. I was round and wide with Malia. This time I’m definitely growing narrow and out. We’ll see in 4 weeks. 🙂 Anyone care to place any bets?
Daddy’s role: He’s not as attentive as he was the first time around. [insert pout] BUT, he is super supportive when it comes to taking care of Malia and handling things around the house. I can focus on my pregnancy and make sure that both of my babies are taken cared of. I may have to push him to get me that bowl of cereal at the end of the night though…..but he always does it. LOL I always knew Mike would make an incredible husband and father. He has never proven me wrong. I will never meet a more patient or attentive man in my entire life. I hope my kids take after him…their future spouses will be so so lucky.
Stats: I’ll share next time. My numbers are skewed this week from last week’s Hawaii-eating extravaganza.
Personal goals: Walk at least 4x a week. Weights 3x a week. Swim 1x on the weekends. If all I’m going to eat is milkshakes (yes it IS a food!), then I better offset it with a proper workout. I refuse to gain too much weight. BELLY photos at least every 2 weeks
Favorite pregnancy moments: Having my Malia lay her head on my belly and having both of my babies to snuggle with.
Overall Summary as of today?: Well, I’m one of those lucky biatches who LOVES pregnancy, despite the discomforts. LOL What can I say? I just love everything about motherhood. Truly. I’ve been warned numerous times of the hardship and the “reality” of pregnancy/motherhood….but I’m so fortunate to be incredibly joyful throughout every stage. It’s the best job I could possibly ask for. But that’s another blog post…check for it around Malia’s first birthday. 🙂
You are WAYYYY more motivated then I ever was. Workout that much? And working fulltime? Go supermom! You look so cute. Enjoy yourself b/c before you know it you’ll be days from meeting the next little one.
