Yaaaaawn! How is it 1) already a Monday 2) already Monday afternoon?
Yes, unfortunately it has been one of those days. Incredibly busy, stressful and tiresome.
But I won’t bore you with those details. Instead I’ll share some of my weekend highlights around Fairfield and Vacaville, California:
- I got to sleep in. Kind of. I didn’t have to wake up at 6 am but my daughter still woke me up at 7:30. I wanted to wake up at (at least) 8:00. Oh well. Still got an extra hour.
- Kids Fest in Vacaville. Maxim and Malia both enjoyed climbing into the fire trucks and wearing their issued fireman’s hats. Adorable! The firemen too, naturally. This is a pretty cool event with live music, the local police and fire departments on display and jump houses and slides. It’s such a nice way to meet local families and businesses.
- Lunch at Los Reyes. Seriously, the heat in California drives me to drink. Literally. Stopped by here for lunch and a margarita for momma! Their lunch specials are such a great value. I loved my shrimp fajitas and Maxim loved his tortilla chips.
Overall, a pretty lowkey weekend. I’m still glad I got the chance to get the kids out and about. That was definitely the highlight to my weekend.
