When I first got pregnant, I started “My Honu Blog” to document my pregnancy and my journey into motherhood. It stayed that way for a while. It was a way for me to capture my favorite (and some not so favorite) memories, while also freezing time through my family photography.
Over time, motherhood taught me a lot of lessons and introduced me to many new experiences. It had me exploring my local community to help my kids socialize, allowed me to meet mothers who shared similar interests and forced me to discover creative ways to give kids fun & new experiences or adventures. That is how My Honu Blog evolved into A Mommentary Life. It’s become a place for me to share my commentary on motherhood. It’s a place for me to connect with other moms who are sharing similar experiences. It’s also a place for me to capture my lifestyle photography as I follow my kids around town.
A Mommentary Life
A Mommentary Life features parenting tips from moms around the world. It offers advice on finding balance as a parent, keeping your life organized and introducing local resources for families in cities all around the world. It all features Family & Lifestyle photography tips to capture those precious moments with your children.
In time, I’d love it to be a place where we can see where our neighbors across the world play with their own kids. But for now, I love to capture my local community of Fairfield, Vacaville and Suisun City. I’ve been a resident of these cities for over 20 years now but am seeing it from the eyes of a mother – looking for places for my kids to find adventure.
If you’re a mom and have a wonderful story to share about your family and local community, I’d love to feature you on the blog. you can do so by e-mailing me or leaving me a message in comments. I love connecting with other moms. If you have something to share about:
- Parenthood
- Home Organization Tips
- Local Family Events
- Family Documentary Photography
…let’s connect and share our experiences!
Wow…thanks for giving me a shout out…I appreciate it. I love the spirit of your blog and your goal to keep it growing. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your posts over the course of this month.
Thanks for stopping by!
Like what I’ve read so far. I’m sure you’ve encouraged a lot of parents to explore their own neighborhoods.
Mommy blogging is a good way to relieve stress and connect with other mommies. Good going!
Your transition shows how life goes on.. how we change and grow with experiences. Thanks for sharing!

I’m glad i’m not the only one who’s blog is still changing. I always feel a bit self conscious that I haven’t settled on a niche. Everyone’s always going on about the all important niche, and I’m so darn flighty that I basically just don’t have one.
