Fall portraits are some of my favorite portraits to take. With us living in California, I like to take advantage of the change in season on the early side when the colors start to change & the leaves are still on the trees. Plus, I don’t have to battle the weather so much. We still experience warm conditions in the latter part of September and early October. In fact, the weather was in the 80’s when we took these portraits.
The fashion is always my favorite. I love the boots, the layers and the colors of Fall fashion. While my daughter pushes the pinks & florals on me all summer long, I push the browns & yellows on her in the Fall.
My little man is getting in on the action now too with his own outfit and personality. He’s been pretty camera shy but I’ve discovered that when his sister is not around, he poses to my heart’s content. While she finished her day off at school, I took the opportunity to let him explore and to photograph him at the park.
Here are some of my favorite things to photograph in the Fall
- Color. Oh yes, I love this season the best for it’s abundance of rich color. While the sun dazzles in the summer, it bathes us in such richness in the Fall.
- Leaves. Give me some big leaves rich in orange tones and I’m happy. Give a girl a handful to toss in the air and we’ve got some fun photos.
- Style.
